How prints are packed

Prints are interleaved with acid-free tissue and rolled at a generous diameter — tight rolling can crack the ink layer on cotton rag paper, so I don't do it. They go into a rigid tube with a good 40mm of air at each end and taped caps. Everything is sent tracked.

Prints are sent unframed and unmounted. Because they're made on standard paper sizes, an off-the-shelf frame will fit.

How long it takes

Each print is made to order, so please allow up to 10 working days before it's posted, plus the postage time on top. It's usually quicker than that — the ten days are there so I'm never rushing a print, which is when they go wrong. Limited editions can take the full ten: they're signed, numbered and get a certificate. If you need something by a particular date, ask and I'll do what I can.

Rates are confirmed at checkout based on where you're sending it.

Orders outside the UK

Orders sent outside the United Kingdom may attract import duty, VAT or a handling fee charged by your own country when the parcel arrives. These are set by your government, not by me, and they are not included in the price you pay here. European Union: since 1 July 2026 there is no longer a duty-free allowance for low-value imports. A flat customs charge of around €3 per item now applies, and the carrier usually adds a small handling fee on top. Your national VAT may also be due. United States: nothing to pay on delivery. Duty on parcels from the UK is settled before the parcel leaves, so the price you see at checkout is the price you pay. Everywhere else: any duty or tax is charged at your border and is the recipient's responsibility. If a parcel is refused and returned to me, I can refund the print but not the postage. If you would like an estimate before ordering, ask me - I would far rather tell you in advance than have a charge land as a surprise.

I'd rather say this plainly than have it come as a surprise: customs rules changed in both the EU and the United States during 2025 and 2026, and parcels that used to arrive without charges may now attract a small duty or handling fee. It's charged by the carrier in your country, not by me, and I have no way to pay it on your behalf.

Cancellations & returns

Because you're buying at a distance, you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of your print being delivered. You don't need a reason and you don't need my agreement.

Some photographers treat made-to-order prints as exempt from this. I've chosen not to. If you get it home, hold it against the wall and it's wrong, I'd rather have it back than have you keep something you don't love.

How to cancel

Tell me within those 14 days — a sentence is enough. You then have a further 14 days to send it back. Please return it in the tube it arrived in, or one like it; a print folded into an envelope can't be resold and can't be refunded in full.

Refunds

• The full price of the print, plus the standard postage you paid to receive it.
• Refunded within 14 days of the print reaching me, to the card you paid with.
• Return postage is yours unless the print is faulty or I sent the wrong one — then it's mine, and I'll arrange it.

If it arrives damaged

That's on me. Photograph the damage — the tube as well as the print — and send it over. I'll reprint and resend at my cost, and you won't need to return the damaged one. This is separate from and additional to your cancellation rights, and it isn't limited to 14 days: your legal rights over faulty goods last far longer. Tubes are tough but the postal system is inventive.

Limited editions

Cancellable and returnable on exactly the same terms. A returned edition print goes back into the edition and its number is reissued — the edition size is a permanent promise and is never quietly increased.

Colour, and what a screen can't tell you

Every screen shows colour differently and no photograph here will look exactly like the print — a good print is usually a little deeper and quieter than a bright display. If you want to be certain before committing to A2, ask me. I'd rather talk it through than have it come back.

This is deliberately more generous than it strictly needs to be. If you're unhappy for a reason I haven't listed, ask — I'd much rather sort it out than have one of my photographs on a wall it isn't wanted on. None of this affects your statutory rights, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Prices and VAT

All prices are in pounds sterling. I'm not currently VAT registered, so there's no VAT to add — the price you see is the price you pay. If you're buying from overseas, your card provider handles the conversion.
