The Bee's Morning

The Chilterns · Spring

A honey bee works the raceme of a common bluebell in full spring bloom, the sharply rendered insect set against a soft wash of violet and green from the surrounding woodland floor. Strong directional light picks out the bee's banding and the translucent bell petals. The shallow depth of field isolates the subject cleanly without contrivance.
