Snow covers every branch on this scene from the Scottish Highlands, along a river that feeds the famous Loch Morlich in the Cairngorms National Park. A truly winter wonderland scene.

This photograph was taken soon after heavy powder snowfall covered every surface and branch in the Cairngorms National Park. This quite literally painted everything white. This can be challenging to photograph - extensive whites and sunlight combine to make depth and exposure choices rather difficult. However, upon reviewing my photos from this long walk, this one stood out. The depth from the river combined with the reflections make for a wonderful subject, and the branches leaning into frame lead the eye upstream. This creates a full frame of winter goodness! One that looks great printed, offering plenty of details that you miss on a screen.
